The US-12 Byway Committee oversees the section of US-12 in Region 2 for MDOT’s Pure Michigan Byways program. US-12 is designated as a Historical Byway for its entire length in Michigan. The responsibilities of the committee include:
- Manage meetings, intergovernmental relations, and serve as the primary point of contact for the public.
- Serve as the applicant for a proposed corridor designation and is responsible for preparing and/or acquiring all required documentation.
- Analyze the corridor, including land use, transportation issues, community goals, lighting and more to implement the byway’s vision.
The US-12 Byway Committee meets several times each year, with the meetings usually occurring on the 4th Monday of the month at 1:00pm. See below for the committee bylaws, meeting agendas and minutes, and the current US-12 Corridor Management Plan.
