Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Public Review and Comment
As a U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) designated Economic Development District, the Region 2 Planning Commission is required to develop and implement a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for the three-county Region 2 district every five years. The first CEDS for Region 2 was completed in 2010 and the second in 2017. Earlier this year the Region 2 Planning Commission created a CEDS Strategy Committee with key stakeholder representatives from Hillsdale, Jackson, and Lenawee Counties to assist in drafting a new CEDS for the region. The results of the Committee’s work is the newest version of the Region 2 CEDS: “Vision for the Future: Enhancing Economic Vitality & Community Prosperity.” The “Vision for the Future” CEDS is available for public review and comment HERE. Comments can be emailed to region2planning@mijackson.org.
